Alliance Against Loneliness in Germany
Alliance Against Loneliness in Germany
The Alliance Against Loneliness (“Allianz gegen Einsamkeit”) in Germany brings together public and private institutions and organisations from all sectors to join forces to reduce loneliness in Germany. We are proud that Maike Luhmann is a founding member of this alliance.
The Alliance was officially launched on June 22 at the 5th conference on loneliness organized by the Kompetenznetz Einsamkeit and the Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. In her keynote address, Maike Luhmann stressed the importance of understanding loneliness as an issue that concerns all of us and that can only be addressed effectively by involving as many stakeholders as possible. The event can be rewatched here.
On the same day, North Rhine Westphalia under the leadership of our patron Minister President Hendrik Wüst initiated the Aktionsbündnis Einsamkeit with the goal of connecting initiatives and projects in North Rhine Westphalia.
These initiatives show that the importance of connecting stakeholders across all societal sectors is increasingly recognized and implemented at regional and national levels. In LONELY-EU, we aim to build a complementary network at the European level.
