Loneliness: A Challenge of Our Time and affects people of all ages and social backgrounds, but with different characteristics and risk factors.
Worldwide, between 17% and 21% of young people (13-29 years old) report feeling lonely, with higher levels among adolescents.
In Milan a conference will be held by our Lonely-EU partner Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan.
“Loneliness as a Social Challenge. From Scientific Research to Intervention Policies” will be held at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan on May 7, 2026 (4:00 PM – 7:00 PM).
The event is organized by PsyLab – Psychology, Law and Policy Lab, a research center at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, in collaboration with @spsTREND, a research center at the University of Milan, as part of the European LONELY-EU project.
A number of our project members will be there: Judith Merkies, Cristiano Vezzoni, Patrizia Catellani but also Stefano BENZONI and Massimo KOMATZ from our Evidence-to-Action (E2A) Board.
